<p>Control system, for motor vehicle, receives signal relating to steering angle, and actuates application of negative / brake torque to one or more wheels. This turning / steering assist operation causes braking to an inside trailing / rear wheel when received steering angle exceeds a threshold / predetermined angle. Amount of braking is dependent / proportional with increase in steering angle. The control system may apply positive torque to one or more wheels to compensate for any brake torque applied, may adjust negative torque value dependent on vehicle speed or driver demanded torque, may operate between upper and lower vehicle threshold speeds / driver torque demands, may set any of predetermined steering angle and threshold speeds / torque demand values, may set an upper brake limit depending on surface coefficient of friction (mu), and may be part of a speed / cruise control system. A method of operation is also included.</p> |
