<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traffic signal system capable of making a control center surely recognize that electric power supply is switched upon occurrence of an electric power failure and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The traffic signal system is provided with: a signal controller 1 for performing lighting control of a signal light device 3 installed at an intersection; and a backup device 7 provided with a battery 11, and a switching unit 9 for switching electric power supplied by a power source device 8 and electric power supplied by the battery 11.
