There is disclosed a watch type mobile terminal including a display configured to display a first image information, a case of which a front surface the display is coupled to, a strap connected to the case and securely wound around a user's arm, a position sensor configured to sense inclination of the case and variation of a position of the case, and a controller configured to convert a state of the display into an activated state from a deactivated state, when position variation corresponding to a preset activating gesture is sensed by the position sensor, such that the screen of the watch type mobile terminal may be activated without the user's pressing an auxiliary button and that use convenience may be enhanced accordingly. |
