PURPOSE:To contrive the reduction in weight of a building material by compounding carbon fibers and ferrite in the specific volume ratio to a cement component. CONSTITUTION:0.1-2vol.% of carbon fibers having 1-50mm fibrous length, based on the total quantity of the ferrite and a cement mortar blended with 5-300pts. wt. of an aggregate such as silica sand, are blended with a water hardenable cement such as Portland cement. Also, with the total quantity of the cement mortar and the carbon fiber, 5-40vol.%. ferrite of 5-500mum average particle size is blended. 30-80pts.wt. water based on the cement component, a carbon fiber dispersing agent and various additives are added to the cement mixture, kneaded, shaped, aged and dried, thus the carbon fiber reinforced cement having high strength is obtained. |
