Power generation for mobile inspection system

A radiation inspection system is provided as a truck with a boom, including a radiation source such as an x ray generator and at least one radiation detector disposed on the boom. The engine 21 drives the drive shaft when being transported, or via a transfer case 24 and either hydraulic 2112 or electric (2114) motor for a slow moving scanning mode. The hydraulic or electric motor also generates electric power supply for the inspection source and detector.
