PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of a tack-in phenomenon which is apt to occur owing to off-operation of an accelerator during cornering, in a rear wheel steering device for a vehicle in which rear wheels can be controlled in an iso-phase with front wheels. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel steering device for a vehicle comprises a rear wheel steering angle setting means 16K to set the iso-phase steering angle of a rear wheel according to the steering angle and the speed of a vehicle, a control means 16H to control iso-phase steering of rear wheels according to a rear wheel iso-phase steering angle set by the rear wheel steering angle setting means 16K, a lateral acceleration detecting means 16B to calculate or detect lateral acceleration produced on a vehicle, and a throttle speed detecting means 16E to detect that the throttle opening of an engine is decreased. The rear wheel steering angle setting means 16K is provided with a correction means 16J to increase the iso-phase control steering angle of a rear wheel based on information from the detecting means 16B and 16E when lateral acceleration is higher than a given value and the throttle opening is decreased. |
