PURPOSE:To prevent defective recording or disablement of recording by preventing incorrect filling of a large quantity of ink into an ink tank. CONSTITUTION:An ink tank 2a integrated with an ink jet recording head la comprises a tank body 3a containing ink 11a, a cover 4a disposed slidingly in the tank body 3a, and a rod member 5a planted on the top face of the cover 4a. Upper part of the rod member 5a is inserted slidingly into a tubular body 6a through an O-ring 9a. The tubular body 6a is provided with a hole 8a and a check valve 7a for opening/closing the hole 8a. If the tank body 3a is gradually filled with ink inadvertently by means of a syringe upon exhaustion of ink in the tank body 3a, a check valve 78 chokes the hole 8a to cause pressure rise in the tubular body 6a thus disabling continuous filling of ink. |
