<p>A handle assembly for a bi-fold door sash, wherein the handle assembly comprises a handle 4 rotatably mounted about backing plate 6 for rotating between a first position in which the handle covers the back plate and a second position in which a portion of the back plate is exposed providing a visual indication, e.g. of an unlocked position. In a first aspect the handle is rotated 180 degrees between first and second positions (engaged and disengaged position) and the handle connected to a shaft 8 installed in an aperture in the back plate wherein the aperture is offset relative to the back plate. In a second aspect the rotating the handles requires lifting the handle away from the base, rotating the handle, then returning the handle to the base plate. Preferably the handle engages the base plate to preventing rotation of the handle when in the first and second positions.</p> |
