<p>The present invention relates to a lighting apparatus using a semiconductor light emitting device to reduce the number of switches. The lighting apparatus using a semiconductor light emitting device includes the semiconductor light emitting device which emits light by AC power; and a limiter circuit located between the AC power and the semiconductor light emitting device. The lighting apparatus includes a limiter circuit having a switch. In the half cycle of the voltage waveform of the AC power, based on a set voltage to prevent the breakage of the semiconductor light emitting device, the switch allows a current to flow along the semiconductor light emitting device in case of the voltage or less and stops current flow to the semiconductor light emitting device in cased of the voltage or more.</p> |
