In the present invention, provided is a composition for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus comprising fermented ginseng berry extracts as an active ingredient obtained by inoculating a lactobacillus plantarum to a ginseng berry and fermenting the ginseng berry for effective treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus with fewer side effects.
