PURPOSE: To make it possible to detect complex cathepsin G in a sample such as body fluid and cellular culture medium supernatant andα-1-anti-chymotrypsin by coating the surface of protein adsorbent with coating agent, and applying it to the surface coated with the sample containing the complex. CONSTITUTION: The method for detecting complex ofα-1-anti-chymotrypsin in a sample and cathepsin G comprises the steps of applying a sample containing complex obtained by coating the surface of protein adsorbent with coating agent, and detecting the anti-chymotrypsin by a detecting agent. The sample can be collected from blood, plasma, serum, or urea. The high binding activity of the cathepsin for the coating surface of the adsorbent is used for the detection. Such a surface can be selected from materials such as polystyrene, gold or silica. The coating agent saturated on the surface is preferably protein or gelatin, and the detecting agent may be labeled or non-labeled.
