Disclosed is a LED chip having an electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection function. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a flip type light emitting diode chip is disclosed. The flip type light emitting diode chip includes: a light emitting diode part arranged on a substrate, and an reversed parallel-diode part which is arranged on the substrate and is connected to the light emitting diode part. The light emitting diode part and the reversed parallel-diode part are arranged in the flip type light emitting diode chip, thereby providing a light emitting diode chip with strong ESD protection.
