PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve wastewater treatment capacity and power-saving effect by reducing membrane fouling in a membrane separation activated sludge method.SOLUTION: A wastewater treatment apparatus 1A includes: an aerobic tank 2 in which water to be treated is treated by activated sludge having been subjected to intermittent aeration; a membrane separation tank 4 which is provided with a membrane unit 3 for solid-liquid separation of a liquid phase in the aerobic tank 2; a water quality measurement device 5 which measures dissolved oxygen in the liquid phase in the aerobic tank 2; and a control part 6 which calculates an optimal aeration time in the intermittent aeration based on the measured dissolved oxygen.
