PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader capable of detecting presence of a punch hole in an image.SOLUTION: An image reader 1 comprises: an image reading section 3; and a controller 11. The image reading section 3 reads a white reference member 27 and a document. The controller 11 determines whether or not a punch hole image is present in a document image showing the document, on the basis of image density of a reference image showing the white reference member 27 and image density of the document image. In one embodiment, the image reading section 3 includes a first image reading unit 61 for reading a first white reference member 27 and a first surface of a document P. The controller 11 determines whether or not a punch hole image is present in a first document image showing the first surface of the document P, on the basis of image density of a first reference document showing the first white reference member 27 and image density of the first document image. |
