<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent jamming of a medium.SOLUTION: A printer 1 as a medium processing device includes a discharge part 15 which discharges a medium 2 and a loading part 16 which loads discharged medium 2. The discharge part 15 includes a discharge roller (driving roller) 20 which can rotate in a forward direction where the medium 2 is discharged and in the backward direction opposite to the forward direction and a pinch roller (driven roller) 22 which is biased so as to be brought into pressure contact with the discharge roller 20 and rotates following the discharge roller 20. The pinch roller 22 is arranged under the discharge roller 20. The pinch roller 22 can be displaced in the rotation direction of the discharge roller 20 in accordance with rotations of the discharge roller 20 in the forward direction and the backward direction. When the discharge roller 20 rotates in the forward direction, the pinch roller 22 is located on a first position protruded to the loading part 16 side. When the discharge roller 20 rotates in the backward direction, the pinch roller 22 is located on a second position retreated from the first position.</p> |
