PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded body for building a structure at an inexpensive price, the molded body not only having excellent radiation shielding effect, but also free from toxic substances, presenting high strength while being chemically stable, and appropriate to use in a facility with equipment that can be influenced by a magnetic field installed.SOLUTION: A molding material including hematite at a ratio of 80 mass% or more is molded into a prescribed shape to obtain a molded body. The molded body is sintered to obtain a molded body for building a structure whose bulk density after sintering is 2.8 g/cmor more. The residual magnetization of the sintered molded body is preferably 1.0A m.gor less.
