PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner and an image forming apparatus which reduces a component cost and, at the same time, suppresses noise upon cleaning.SOLUTION: An optical scanner includes: a screw shaft 35 having a main body part 42 which is arranged along a cover part 32 and is formed of a screw groove 41 and rotation shaft parts 43 integrally provided on both edge sides of the main body part 42; a retention member 36 which is formed of a protrusion 50 engaged with the screw groove 41 and is moved along the screw shaft 35 by rotation of the screw shaft 35; a cleaning member retained on the retention member 36; and a driving mechanism 51 which rotates and drives the screw shaft 35 and, at the same time, moves the screw shaft 35 in a direction reverse to the movement direction of the retention member 36. |
