<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator of a simple configuration which can be manufactured inexpensively, and in which occurrence of flow resistance of gas released by an unburnt gas generating agent can be prevented without increasing the number of components.SOLUTION: A cylinder system gas generator includes: a housing 10; a holder 20; a closing member 12; a partition member 14; and a plurality of gas generating agent layers 54 and 55. A combustion chamber 17 and a filter chamber 18 are defined by the housing, the holder, the closing member, and the partition member. A gas generating agent is disposed in the combustion chamber, whereas a filter 53 is disposed in the filter chamber. The plurality of gas generating agent layers have different burning velocities. Since the burning velocity of the gas generating agent layers are different, internal pressure in the gas generator during operation can be adequately retained so that gas is generated also in the latter half of the operation.</p> |
