PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a larger number of areas for image formation, relating to formation of an image and a pattern image on both of the faces of a recording medium.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming unit for forming an image on a recording medium P; a conveyance unit capable of reversing and conveying the recording medium P by switch back; and a controller which performs control relating to formation of a pattern image Q formed in a blank portion of the recording medium P having an image formed thereon and used to adjust an image forming unit 120. When the pattern image Q is to be formed on both sides of the recording medium, the controller causes the image forming unit to form the pattern image in the blank portion existing on one end side out of both ends of the recording medium along the conveyance direction by the conveyance unit. |
