PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tilting pad type journal bearing capable of achieving reduction in an oil supply amount and suppression of rise in an oil film temperature, while maintaining a stabilization function with respect to oscillation.SOLUTION: A tilting pad 2 has a through-hole 11 penetrating from an outer peripheral surface 2b to an inner peripheral surface 2a of the tilting pad 2. A nozzle 3 passes through the through-hole 11 of the tilting pad 2, has a base end part fixed at a bearing housing 5 and has a tip part facing an outer peripheral surface 1a of a rotary shaft 1. A gap 7 is disposed between the nozzle 3 and an inner surface of the through-hole 11 of the tilting pad 2 so as to avoid contact between the nozzle 3 and the tilting pad 2 even when the tilting pad 2 oscillates. |
