PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video output device in which a caption and a video image can be appropriately combined and outputted during fast-forward or rewind playback.SOLUTION: The video output device comprises: a video storage part 103 for storing video information; a caption storage part 104 for storing one or more caption information items as information of character strings indicating a caption and caption timing information as information indicating timing to output the caption information items relative to output of video information; an instruction receiving part 105 for receiving an instruction of fast-forward feedback that is an instruction of playback different from normal playback; and an output part 113 in which the one or more caption information items stored in the caption storage part 104 are combined with the video information stored in the video storage part 103, and outputted by using the caption timing information corresponding to the caption information items. When the instruction receiving part 105 receives the instruction of fast-forward playback, the output part 113 outputs video information obtained by combining the video information and the caption information in a fast-forward manner.
