CLEANING ROBOT, CHARGING STATION AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE SAME

A cleaning robot comprises: a main body; a movable assembly mounted on a lower surface of the main body to move the main body; a pad mounted on a lower surface of the main body to clean the floor in a wet manner; and a sterilizing unit sterilizing the pad. A charging station supplying electric power to the cleaning robot with the pad comprises: a detecting unit detecting the docking of the cleaning robot; a sterilizing unit sterilizing the pad; and a control unit which controls the sterilizing unit when the cleaning robot is docked. The cleaning robot and the charging station can prevent germ or mold from growing on the pad by sterilizing the pad mounted on the cleaning robot even if the pad is neglected on the cleaning robot, and prevent foul odors from occurring on the pad, thereby increasing sanitation of the pad provided on the cleaning robot and improving user satisfaction.
