<p>The present invention relates to an air conditioner and a controlling method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the air conditioner comprises: an outdoor unit which includes a compressor, an outdoor heat exchanger, and an outdoor expansion device; one or more indoor units which are connected with the outdoor unit, are placed in an indoor space, and include an indoor heat exchanger and an indoor expansion device; a first temperature sensor which is placed in a pipe at an inlet of the indoor heat exchanger in order to sense the temperature of a refrigerant flowing into the indoor heat exchanger; a second temperature sensor which is placed in a pipe at an outlet of the indoor heat exchanger in order to sense the temperature of the refrigerant passing the indoor heat exchanger; and a control unit which determines the occurrence of abnormal conditions in the indoor expansion device based on a temperature value sensed by the first and second temperature sensors and a temperature value sensed by the indoor temperature sensor.</p> |
