PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a line-of-sight detector capable of detecting a direction of line-of-sight of a viewer in a wide range.SOLUTION: The line-of-sight detector includes: a drive control section 311 and a detection section 312. The drive control section 311 controls a drive system to shift the direction of optical axis of an imaging unit 151 that takes an external environment facing a display screen of the display section. The detection section 312 detects the direction of line-of-sight of a viewer when a viewer's face is included in the image information taken by the imaging unit 151 every time when the drive control section 311 shifts the direction of the optical axis.
