PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medium from moving while conveyance of the medium is stopped, and to prevent a single slip from accumulating in the vicinity of a paper outlet.SOLUTION: A printer 1 includes: a processing unit for processing a medium; an auto cutter 60 for cutting the medium; a conveyance mechanism 63 for conveying the medium in a direction to move the medium to an outlet port; medium posture detection means 65 for detecting displacement of the medium after conveyance by the conveyance mechanism 63 is stopped; a regulation unit for regulating movement of the medium in the direction to move the medium to the outlet port after conveyance by the conveyance mechanism 63 is stopped; and a medium processing device control unit 100 that controls the auto cutter 60 to cut the medium when the displacement of the medium is detected by the medium posture detection means 65.
