PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve autofocus processing accuracy.SOLUTION: In FIG. 1(A), an imaging apparatus 100 combines acquired images PA-1 and PA-2 while deviating the images PA-1 and PA-2 by a deviation d1 corresponding to a focal length f1 with respect to the focal length f1 to obtain a combined image PCA. A contract value of the combined image PCA is a large value since subjects S are not out of focus and the subjects S are completely superimposed. Furthermore, in FIG. 1(B), the imaging apparatus 100 combines acquired images PB-1 and PB-2 while deviating the images PB-1 and PB-2 by a deviation d2 corresponding to a focal length f2 with respect to the focal length f2 to obtain a combined image PCB. A contrast value of the combined image PCB is a small value since the subjects S are out of focus and the subjects S are not superimposed. The imaging apparatus 100 selects any one of a plurality of focal lengths on the basis of the contrast value of the combined image PCA and that of the combined image PCB. |
