PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus having a lens optical axis directing to the zenith irrespective of the inclination of an imaging apparatus body.SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes a main body 10 having a formed spherical part including at least three support points 405, and an imaging optical system 1a for imaging a subject to obtain image data. The imaging apparatus further includes a rotation transfer imaging unit 1d for rotationally transferring while supported by the support points 405, with a centroid point positioned in a manner to be overlapped with the centroid of a polygon plane connecting the support points 405 and to be closer to the imaging element 101b side than the polygon plane in a direction perpendicular to the polygon plane.
