PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect documents overlapping.SOLUTION: An image reader comprises: a document conveyance part which conveys a document mounted on a mount part to a discharge part; a document read part which reads an image out of the document being conveyed; an image storage part which stores the read image as image data; an output part which outputs the image data from the image storage part; a document detection part which detects the read document; an input part which inputs document read conditions; a display part; and a control part which receives outputs from the input part and document detection part and then controls the document conveyance part, document read part, image storage part, output part, and display part. When a plurality of documents are conveyed and read by adding a specific pattern for every predetermined count of sheets in advance, the control part counts read documents between documents with the specific pattern, and makes the display part display counts of documents each between the documents with the specific pattern. |
