<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and an information processing method which allow for operation on an external apparatus by operation on a display unit without performing operation onto an image displayed on the external apparatus.SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus comprises a receiver, a display controller, a detector, and a transmitter. The receiver receives, from an external apparatus, image data of a second image which has a resolution different from that of a first image displayed on a first display unit of the external apparatus and includes in at least a portion thereof an effective image corresponding to the first image. The display controller controls the second display unit to display at least a portion of the effective image, on the basis of the received image data. The detector detects operation input on the effective image displayed on the second display unit. The transmitter transmits, to the external apparatus, operation information which allows for identifying an operation position within the first image corresponding to a detection position where the operation input has been detected within the effective image.</p> |
