<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce, when crystallized glass substrates for magnetic disk use are to be manufactured, fluctuations of the glass substrates in strength and in the internal diameters of round holes bored in, and the external diameters of glass substrates among the glass substrates.SOLUTION: A manufacturing method for glass substrates for magnetic disk use comprises shape formation processing to form side wall faces orthogonal to the main surface of each of the glass substrates and intervening faces between the main surface and the side wall faces by machining the end faces of disk-shaped non-crystalline glass substrate; crystallization processing to crystallize the glass substrates by subjecting glass substrates having gone through the shape formation processing to heat treatment; adjustment processing to adjust at least either of the internal diameters and the external diameters of the glass substrates having gone through the crystallization processing to a value or values required for glass substrates for magnetic disk use; and end face polish processing to mirror-polish the side wall faces and the intervening faces.</p> |
