The present invention relates to a purifying device of a storm overflow chamber. The purifying device of a storm overflow chamber for purifying sewage discharged to the storm overflow chamber through a sewage gathering duct comprises: a space forming part composed of a pretreatment sediment collector and a purifying space part, the pretreatment sediment collector having an inflow hole at one side of a lower part so as to settle and remove pollutant particles and adulterations with a high specific gravity while simultaneously raising the level of water gradually from a bottom by introducing the polluted sewage, the purifying space part arranged at the upper side of the pretreatment sediment collector, including an intercommunicating hole for introducing the sewage introduced into the pretreatment sediment collector, and having an outflow hole for discharging the purified sewage at one side of an upper part as the level of the sewage rises gradually; and a purification part composed of a buoy floating on the sewage introduced into the purifying space part, media compressed accordingly as the buoy is raised by the consistently incoming sewage, and a compression means for compressing the media accordingly as the buoy is raised. Sewage that is generated above the capacity of a sewage gathering duct at ordinary times or in the case of rain and is discharged to rivers through a storm overflow chamber, is purified efficiently and is discharged to rivers, and the purifying device can be backwashed swiftly in the case of foreign materials adhering to the purifying device due to repeated purifying operations.
