PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure body where collection efficiency can be sufficiently maintained and which has high mechanical strength and to provide a highly reliable gas treatment device with the honeycomb structure body.SOLUTION: In a honeycomb structure body 1 comprising an external wall 2, a plurality of partition walls 3 disposed at the inside of the external wall 2 and a sealant 4, spaces surrounded by the external wall 2 and the partition walls 3 or the partition walls 3 with each other become the flow paths 5 of a fluid, and the inflow ports or outflow ports of the flow paths 5 are sealed with the sealant 4. In the honeycomb structure body 1, the variation coefficient &sgr;/x(wherein, &sgr;is the standard deviation of a length Land xis the average value of the length L) of the length Lof the sealant 4 in a first region at an inner peripheral side in a fluid outflow side is 0.1 or less; and the sealant 4 in a second region at an outer peripheral side is longer than xand becomes longer toward an external wall 2 side. |
