[Class 53] A dry cell of the Leclanche type, which can be recharged like an accumulator, comprises a zinc electrode g, electrolytic paste h, depolarizer c, a carbon electrode c covered with insulating material n above the depolarizer, a porous ring r disposed above the electrolytic paste and resting on the depolarizer so as to form with the members p, q a gas chamber to which gases, but not the electrolyte, have access. The zinc electrode may be coated externally with rubber or an artificial resin, and be surrounded by a container a of rubber, artificial resin, &c. The upper part of the carbon electrode may be insulated by a collar n of glass &c. by a coating of wax, bitumen, &c., or by dipping it in an insulating material, e.g. an artificial resin. |
