PURPOSE:To obtain reliability in a long period of use, and dispose a great deal of waste ink in a short time by providing a pipe having a plurality of openings in a longitudinal direction within a waste ink tank provided with a waste ink absorber, viz., a discharge tube for effecting discharge of waste ink into a large number of places in the waste ink tank. CONSTITUTION:An absorber 2 is mounted in a waste ink tank 1. The ink absorber 2 is made of materials, for example, a felt material, laminated paper, polymeric porous substance, or water absorption resin and the like. In the waste ink tank 1, a waste ink discharge tube 3 having a lage number of openings 3b in a longitudinal direction is disposed in a manner uniformly passing through the waste ink tank 1. The waste ink discharge tube 3 may be made to have a connection part 3a and changeable by being separated from the recording meter main body. As a result, if absorbing abilities of the ink absorber in the ink openings drop, the ink openings being in a plurality of places enable an effective use of the whole of the ink absorber. |
