<p>The present invention relates to a direct current (DC) blocking device and a method thereof. The purpose of the present invention is to provide a DC blocking device having a high speed blocking function adaptable to a voltage type converter and a method thereof. The structure of the present invention is relatively simple, such that the costs can be reduced, thereby having a competitive price. To achieve the purpose of the present invention, the DC blocking device used to block DC in case of accidents comprises: a main current carrying part including an inputting switch, mechanical switch and semiconductor switch connected in series on a current carrying pathway to carry a current in a normal state; a capacitor connected to the mechanical and semiconductor switches in parallel on a circuit connected to the main current carrying part in parallel; and a surge arrester connected to the capacitor in parallel on a circuit connected to the main current carrying pathway in parallel. Therefore, the DC blocking device and DC blocking method using the same are provided.</p> |
