The detector (1) has a measurement unit (2) for measuring variation of an electromagnetic or electrostatic field, and a second measurement unit (3) for measuring an acoustic wave at a given frequency. A storage unit (4) for storing measured data is coupled to a clock (5). A processing module (6) calculates an impact distance of lightning strike with respect to the detector according to the measured data. A recording unit (8) records number of impacts of lightning in a detection zone of detection of radius around the detector. An independent claim is also included for a method for counting lightning strikes for application of detector. |
