<p>The present invention relates to a group-based channel scanning method for efficient handover. More particularly, the present invention relates to a group-based channel scanning method capable of reducing traffic overhead and scanning time. The present invention relates to the group-based channel scanning method applied to a communication system which includes a serving base station and a plurality of mobile terminals which are served by the serving base station. Only the terminal in a wait scan (WS) state in the scanning group performs channel scanning. If a scan section is terminated, the terminal notifies the result to other terminals in a wait information (WI) state including one mobile terminal in the scanning group.</p> |
