The present invention relates to a low-complexity cost function calculation method for a multiple-input multiple-output system. The cost function calculation method uses a function modified through a shift function to calculate the I/O signal relations. Accordingly, the cost function calculation method can lower the complexity of the calculation and reduce the number of required computations, thereby reducing the capacity of the hardware needed for the calculation process.
