<p>The present invention provides an apparatus and a method to correct a cut-off position of a head lamp which extracts the cut-off position of a low beam irradiated on the road surface by an image of a night vision camera, and corrects an error caused by a mechanical factor; thereby providing optimal night visibility. The method includes the steps of: capturing an image of a forward road during night driving when a head lamp is turned on to analyze the image; determining whether a current driving condition meets a cut-off position determining condition of the low beam; determining the actual cut-off position of the low beam by dividing the image pixels into a bright spot and a dark spot if the current driving condition meets a cut-off position determining condition of the low beam; comparing a cut-off position control value of the low beam outputted from the head lamp in accordance to the vehicle height and the actual cut-off position of the low beam calculated by analyzing the image to extract a variation; and calculating a correction value of the cut-off position of the low beam in accordance to the variation to adjust the cut-off position by an actuator.</p> |
