PURPOSE:To recover toner leaked on a latent image carrier from the end of a scattering member in a developing part and to prevent contamination by the leaked toner from occurring by making the entire width of the scattering member shorter than the effective developing width of the developing part. CONSTITUTION:The entire width of a uniformizing roller 28 is set longer than the entire width of recording paper 6 in order to allow the performance of the roller 28 as the scattering member to effectively act over the entire width. When the entire width of the roller 28 is set shorter than the entire width of the recording paper 6, it is natural that an afterimage is formed on the outside of the roller 28. Thus, the toner leaked on a photoreceptor drum 20 from the end of the roller 28 is surely prevented from dropping on both side parts of the back surface of the recording paper 6 and soiling the back surface of the recording paper 6, while the leaked toner is surely recovered by the developing part 23. Furthermore, the contamination by the leaked toner is prevented from occurring and excellent printing without a black vertical stripe is realized. |
