PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus and a software update program capable of reducing the size of an area on memory necessary for updating software.SOLUTION: An MFP 10 includes a storage unit 17 that stores firmware 20 as a compressed file including a plurality of pieces of software, difference data reception means 18a for receiving a patch as difference data between the firmware 20 before the update and firmware 20 after the update, and software update means 18b for applying the patch received by the difference data reception means 18a to the firmware 20 before the update while the firmware 20 is in a compressed state to create the firmware 20 after the update so as to update software.
