A control circuit (15) is driven by a drive voltage (VOC) generated by a generation circuit (11), and outputs a control signal. A drive circuit (14) is driven by a drive voltage (VOD) generated by a generation circuit (12), and turns a switching element that is inside a switching circuit (13) on and off by supplying, to the switching circuit (13), a drive signal based on the control signal. When a switching device (1) is activated, a voltage generation control unit (16) detects the voltage value of the output voltage (VOC) of the generation circuit (11) and permits activation of the generation circuit (12) after verifying that the detected voltage value is at or above a designated threshold. |
