An alignment module for aligning a segment of a first surface of an electronic device (ED) for coupling with a protection module, the module comprising: a base, a portion of the base shaped to mate with a second surface segment of the ED, the ED first surface segment on a first side of the ED and the ED second surface segment on a second side of the ED, the second side opposite the first side and an outer perimeter formed about the ED first surface and second surface; a plurality of ED perimeter engaging modules, each perimeter engaging module physically connected to the base and the combination of the base and plurality of ED perimeter engaging modules forming a structure that substantially prevents the ED first surface segment from moving relative the plurality of ED perimeter engaging modules when the ED second surface segment is mated with the base; and a first alignment registration module (ARM), the first ARM extending above the first surface and framing a first portion of the first surface segment when the ED second surface segment is mated with the base, the first ARM physically coupled to one of the base and one of the plurality of ED perimeter engaging modules; and a second alignment registration module (ARM), the second ARM extending above the first surface and framing a second portion of the first surface segment when the ED second surface segment is mated with the base, the second ARM physically coupled to one of the base and one of the plurality of ED perimeter engaging modules, the first surface segment first portion offset at an angle from the second portion relative to the ED first surface.
