The present invention has the purpose to suppress the absorption of water and the introduction of water into a battery in a non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery by allowing to have hydrophobicity throughout the whole composition parts of the battery. The non-aqueous electrolytic secondary battery comprises a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator inserted between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the electrode materials for the positive electrode and/or the negative electrode include hydrophobic spherical silica particles. The hydrophobic spherical silica particles are hydrophobic spherical silica particles, in which R^1SiO_3/2 units are introduced on the surface of hydrophilic spherical silica particles including SiO_2 units, and R^2_3SiO_1/2 units are further introduced on the surface of the silica particles introduced with R^1SiO_3/2 units, wherein the average particle diameter is 5 nm to 1.00 μm; the particle size distribution D_90/D_10 is 3 or less; and the average roundness is 0.8-1. |
