The present invention relates to super absorbent polymers and to a manufacturing method thereof. The super absorbent polymers according to an aspect of the present invention comprise acidic groups; crosslinked polymers manufactured by surface crosslinking base resin that is manufactured by polymerizing water-soluble ethylene-based unsaturated monomers having at least part of the acidic groups neutralized; and water-soluble components, wherein the weight average molecular weight of the water-soluble components can be 150,000 to 300,000. The super absorbent polymer according to the present invention can have excellent liquid permeability while simultaneously having high water-retaining ability despite the low content of water-soluble components.
