PURPOSE:To efficiently carry out the operation of a cleaning mechanism by installing a controller for controlling the operation of the cleaning mechanism according to the contamination of a sanding belt which is detected by an image processing device. CONSTITUTION:A video camera 50 is installed on the opposite side to a cleaning mechanism 40, and the whole of the lateral width of the part close to a driving roll 22a on a sanding belt 23 can be taken photograph, and the image signal is supplied to an image processing device 70. On the basis of the image signal, the contamination of the polishing surface of the sanding belt 23 is detected by the image processing device 70, and the operation of the cleaning mechanism 40 is controlled by a controller 60 according to the contamination. Accordingly, the useless operation of the cleaning mechanism 40 is suppressed, and the chips can be removed efficiently. |
