PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new liquid-phase polymerization method of polyisobutylene.SOLUTION: A liquid-phase polymerization method of polyisobutylene comprises the steps of: supplying a raw material containing isobutylene; supplying a catalyst composition containing a complex of BFand a complexing agent for BF; introducing the raw material and the catalyst composition to a remaining reaction mixture in a reaction zone; homogeneously mixing the remaining reaction mixture, the raw material and the catalyst composition to generate a homogeneously mixed reaction mixture material in the reaction zone; keeping the homogeneously mixed reaction mixture material to be a homogeneously mixed state and maintaining the mixture material at least at approximately 0°C while keeping the mixture material in the reaction zone to polymerize the isobutylene in the mixture material to generate polyisobutylene; extracting a product stream containing low molecular weight, highly reactive polyisobutylene from the reaction zone; and controlling introduction of the raw material to the reaction zone and extraction of the product stream from the reaction zone so that the residence time of the polymerized isobutylene in the reaction zone is approximately 4 minutes or less.
