A communication control method of a first terminal device, by which the first terminal device and a second terminal device located in the proximity of the first terminal device establish a direct communication path, the method being provided with: a step for monitoring a signal which the second terminal device transmits in order to cause proximal terminal devices to detect the second terminal device; a step for receiving the signal and detecting that the second terminal device is located in the proximity thereof; a step for acquiring coverage information indicating whether or not the second terminal device included in the signal is located within the range of an LTE base station; and a step for, on the basis of the coverage information, detecting whether or not the second terminal device is located in the range thereof.
