PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering lock device which can secure safety of a driver at the time of collision of a vehicle and facilitate connection and assembling work of an ignition switch and a key detection switch.SOLUTION: In a lock mechanism of a steering, a lock bolt thereof is provided so as to be able to reciprocate in a body 10 side direction in a part closer to the rear part of the body 10. An ignition switch 14 includes a main switch 27 and a key detection switch 18 and is arranged on the side part of the body 10 different from the advancing movement direction of the lock bolt. A steering lock device further includes first and second bevel gears 17, 28 for transmitting rotation driving force of a key cylinder 16 to a first switch by converting the rotation driving force from a rotation axis direction of the key cylinder 16 to an orthogonal direction, a switch cam 19 and a drive shaft 34 which transmit the retraction of the key cylinder 16 due to the key insertion to a second switch. |
