A polycarbonate resin having, in a molecule, at least a structural unit represented by the following formula (1), wherein a terminal hydroxyl group concentration of the polycarbonate resin is 300 ppm or less; compounds obtained by alkali hydrolysis of the polycarbonate resin contain at least a compound represented by the following formula (3), in addition to a compound represented by the following formula (2); and an amount of the compound represented by the following formula (3) is from 500 to 7,000 ppm based on all compounds obtained by alkali hydrolysis of the polycarbonate resin: wherein, each of R1, R2 and R3 independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 20 or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, and X represents a single bond, a carbonyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkylidene group, a substituted or unsubstituted sulfur atom, or an oxygen atom; or a polycarbonate resin having, in a molecule, at least a structural unit represented by the following formula (1), wherein a total content of phenol compounds having a carbon number of 6 to 18 in the polycarbonate resin is 100 ppm or less, compounds obtained by alkali hydrolysis of the polycarbonate resin contain at least a compound represented by the following formula (3), in addition to a compound represented by the following formula (2), and an amount of the compound represented by the following formula (3) is from 500 to 7,000 ppm based on all compounds obtained by alkali hydrolysis of the polycarbonate resin: wherein, each of R1, R2 and R3 independently represents a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 20 or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, and X represents a single bond, a carbonyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkylidene group, a substituted or unsubstituted sulfur atom, or an oxygen atom.
